The Auburndale Watch Co. is founded by J.R. Hopkins and W.A. Wales in Auberndale, Massachusetts.
September 1877
The first Auburndale Watch Co. "Auberndale Rotary" watches are manufactured. Unfortunately, most of the 1,000 watches produced were eventually returned by customers as defective. It is determined that the original machinery was poorly designed.

The Auberndale Watch Co. begins manufacturing a 18s gilt 3/4-plate movemens - The Bently, a stem-wind variation, and the Lincoln, a key-wind variation. Unfortunately, production ceased after roughly 300 movements when it was deterined they could not be sold at a price to derive a profit.
1879
Considering the difficulties in the watch market, the Auberndale Watch Co. shifts to manufacturing dial thermometers and horse-timers.
1881
Finding much success with the dial thermometers, the Aburndale Watch Co. devotes their entire operation to this market.
August 1883
The Auburndale Watch Co. ceases operations after fianancial trouble.
