The watch predates both Boar Wars (Dec 1880-Mar 1881 and Oct 1899-May 1902) and both World Wars and was manufactured around a decade after the end of the Civil War (April 1861 -May 1865) Believed to have remained in London for 147 years, surviving the bombing of London during World War 2. Information: Prince of Wales in 1876 would have been Albert Edward, later King Edward (1901-1910). Interestingly the Prince of Wales eldest son, Prince Albert Victor was a suspect in the Jack the Ripper Whitechapel murders, although since proven innocent. |
