Serial Number 501243 was reported as inaccurate.

Note: Yes you're right it looks to me as though it has
jewels at top and bottom of center wheel. I just
posted a photo with the cannon removed.
Curator Response: Excellent. Thanks for the confirmation! This would fit with the estimated production year as well since it appears advertisements for the Grade 96 cease just before the Grade 79 is introduced around 1895, likely intended as the replacement for the discontinued Grade 96. I appreciate the photos and your attention to detail. Cheers.

Serial Number 501243 was reported as inaccurate.

Note: The watch is adjusted and has a Reed
micro-regulator; so it's at least 15 Jewels and
Grade 96.
Curator Response: Thanks for the report. Could you confirm whether the center wheel is jeweled on the top and pillar plate or not? If so, the movement should likely be classified as a Grade 79 (17 Jewels) rather than 96 (15 Jewels).
