Verification Reports for this Run

These reports are useful to verify data and track inaccuracies that require further research. Please note that reports may contain inaccurate information or assumptions that must be dilligently considered with other available sources.

Serial Number 209721 was reported as inaccurate.

Note: This is a Gold Flashed model 5 that is not double
roller, is 17J, nor is it a Maiden Lane due to no
recess under the balance.
Curator Response: Thanks for the report. Not all Maiden Lane movements featured a recessed balance. This was a result of the double roller escapement added to the Model 5 later in production (c.1910-1915). Earlier Maiden Lane movements are fitted with a single roller and do not feature a recessed balance. #209721 has veen verified as a gilt-damaskeened private label marked "Marshall & Bragg - Rutland, Vt. - 17J. - Safety Pinion." [eBay #143151430356] Features are more consistent with a Special Order Grade 182.
Changes since this report was submitted:
Grade changed from Maiden Lane to 182
Jewels changed from 24j to 17j
Movement Finish changed from Two-Tone to Gilt Damaskeened
