Serial Number 2071880 was reported as inaccurate.
Serial number 2071880, although being a 16S, 17J
movement, is not marked Wm McKinley.
The 17J Wm McKinley grade is only adjusted to
temperature unless actually marked "Adjusted Three
Positions."
Although a few watch inspectors on a few
railroads may have accepted the 17J Wm McKinley
into railroad service in the 1902-1905 era (when
the earliest ones were built), Hampden didn't
consider these to be railroad grade and neither
did anyone else.
